Weathering of Teakwood
Teakwood is widely regarded as the ultimate wood for outdoor luxury—prized for its strength, natural oils, and exceptional durability in even the most challenging climates. When we created the teakwood Collections, we deliberately chose this noble material not just for its resilience, but for its ability to age with grace and quiet dignity. The collection was designed to soften over time, allowing nature to gently reveal the evolving character of the wood.
Each piece is protected with a specialized outdoor coating that helps preserve its original finish. While many clients find the coating maintains its tone for 2–3 years, this varies depending on local exposure to sun, rain, wind, and humidity. The process—often resulting in a soft silvering or tonal shift—is a hallmark of authentic teak and a signature of its natural luxury.
To support the longevity of your teakwood pieces, we recommend two simple yet effective care practices:
• Use a teak renewal or conditioner periodically to help maintain the original tone if preferred.
• Most importantly, make use of well-fitted furniture covers when your pieces are not in use. These protect against UV exposure, moisture, airborne debris, and environmental pollutants, all of which help extend the beauty and life of any outdoor furniture.
Rest assured, your teakwood pieces were designed from the beginning to live beautifully and authentically in the open air. With thoughtful care, they’ll continue to enrich your space season after season.
